Wales v Bosnia-Herzegovina
Since becoming independent in 1991, Bosnia and Herzegovina have qualified for the FIFA World Cup on two occasions, in 2014 in Brazil and also in 2026 in Canada, Mexico and the USA.
Following the collapse of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia in 1991 the Nogometni/Fudbalski Savez Bosne i Hercegovine (N/FSBiH) was formed in 1992.
In 1993 a Bosnia-Herzegovina representative team beat Iran 3-1 in Tehran however it is not classed as a full international as Bosnia-Herzegovina were not yet members of FIFA.
Bosnia-Herzegovina's first official international was a 2-0 defeat against Albania in Tirana in November 1995.
Wales record v Bosnia-Herzegovina
Wales' first meeting with Bosnia-Herzegovina was a 2-2 draw in a friendly at the Millennium Stadium, Cardiff in 2003.
During qualification for the 2016 UEFA European Championships, Wales' penultimate game of the group was away in Bosnia-Herzegovina.
A point would have secured Wales' qualification but despite being beaten by Milan Djuric and Vedad Ibisevic's second-half goals, Cyprus' 2-1 victory in Israel meant Wales qualified for the UEFA European Championships for the first time in their history.
In the play-offs for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Wales were drawn at home to Bosnia-Herzegovina in the Path A semi final with Bosnia-Herzegovina winning 4-2 on penalties after a 1-1 draw.
